Radiographer Job at University Teaching Hospital of Butare (CHUB) – Apply Before 4 November 2026

The University Teaching Hospital of Butare (CHUB) is inviting qualified and experienced healthcare professionals to apply for the position of Radiographer in Huye District, Rwanda.

This opportunity is suitable for professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology, Medical Imaging, Diagnostic Radiography, or Medical Imaging Technology, with at least three (3) years of relevant working experience.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing radiographic and imaging services while ensuring patient safety and high-quality healthcare delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Provide patient care and participate in clinical research and education.
2. Perform radiographic and medical imaging examinations as required.
3. Maintain high standards of radiography and imaging services.
4. Participate in on-call duties when required.
5. Ensure compliance with the three principles of radiation protection: justification, optimization, and dose limits.
6. Participate in routine equipment inspections and quality assurance procedures.
7. Keep up to date with current radiographic techniques and developments in medical imaging.
8. Participate in in-service training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
9. Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and safety within the Radiology Department.
10. Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
11. Report equipment defects and incidents that may affect patient or staff safety.
12. Provide quality patient care while maintaining kindness, confidentiality, and professionalism.
13. Assess patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
14. Perform different radiographic examinations to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
15. Monitor and support patients before, during, and after examinations.
16. Assist with complex radiological examinations under the supervision of radiologists and senior staff.
17. Provide reassurance and support to patients, considering their physical and psychological needs.
18. Record patient identification and imaging documentation accurately.
19. Follow radiological procedures, professional guidelines, and patient confidentiality requirements.
20. Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Radiography with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging Technology with at least 3 years of relevant hospital-level working experience.

Professional Registration Requirement:

Candidates applying under the Medical Imaging Technology qualification must also have a registration certificate and a valid license to practice issued by the relevant professional council in Rwanda.
