Position Overview
The Rwanda Legal and Investigations Intern will support legal and investigations teams in case evaluation, legal research, evidence analysis, and drafting of professional reports. The role is designed for law graduates seeking practical exposure in a fast-paced and structured operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Case Assessment and Evidence Management
- Evaluate new and ongoing cases and identify key issues
- Organize and analyze case documents and evidence
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and missing information
Investigative Support and Documentation
- Draft interview questions, case summaries, and briefing notes
- Document interviews and key findings accurately
- Support daily investigative and administrative tasks
Legal Research and Analysis
- Conduct targeted legal research on assigned cases
- Summarize legal principles clearly and concisely
- Assist in linking facts to relevant legal issues under supervision
Drafting and Reporting
- Prepare initial drafts of investigation plans and legal reports
- Revise documents based on feedback
- Contribute to final memoranda and structured reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or related field
- Basic understanding of criminal law, contract law, and law of evidence
- Prior internship or legal exposure is an advantage
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an advantage)
