Job Overview
The Rwanda Driver will provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation services to One Acre Fund staff, partners, materials, equipment, and supplies.
The role requires a driver who understands Rwanda’s road network and traffic regulations, maintains vehicles properly, keeps accurate records, and demonstrates a strong commitment to road safety.
The successful candidate should be comfortable travelling regularly and working in different locations across Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities
Staff and Materials Transportation
The Driver will:
- Safely transport staff to meetings, field visits, and other work-related activities.
- Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to assigned locations on time.
- Follow all road safety regulations.
- Comply with One Acre Fund’s driving policies.
- Ensure passengers and transported materials are handled safely and responsibly.
Daily Transport Coordination
The successful candidate will:
- Plan and organize daily vehicle movements based on transport requests.
- Communicate with staff regarding pickup and drop-off arrangements.
- Ensure timely pickups, drop-offs, and deliveries.
- Coordinate vehicle availability with other teams when required.
- Respond professionally to changing transportation requirements.
Vehicle Maintenance
The Driver will:
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and safe.
- Maintain the vehicle in good working condition.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections.
- Identify and report vehicle faults promptly.
- Report maintenance and repair requirements.
- Ensure the vehicle has all required documentation.
- Ensure safety equipment and basic vehicle supplies are available.
Vehicle Records and Documentation
The position will involve:
- Maintaining vehicle logbooks.
- Keeping fuel records up to date.
- Maintaining vehicle maintenance records.
- Submitting transport documentation on time.
- Submitting fuel-related documentation as required.
- Reporting accidents and incidents according to company procedures.
Safety and Professional Operations
The Driver will:
- Maintain a strong commitment to road safety.
- Safeguard company vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure vehicles are used responsibly and appropriately.
- Represent One Acre Fund professionally when interacting with staff.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A valid Rwanda Driving License, Category B and D.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a similar driving capacity.
- Experience working in a fast-paced organization.
- Good knowledge of Rwanda’s road network.
- Good understanding of Rwanda’s traffic regulations.
- A safe driving record.
- Strong commitment to road safety.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to identify basic mechanical problems.
- Ability to maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records.
- Ability to maintain accurate fuel records.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to use Google Workspace, including Google Sheets and Google Forms.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
- Ability to work in different locations across Rwanda.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda.
- Ability to speak and write in English.
