BRAC International is recruiting a Technical Sector Officer – Livestock & Agriculture to support the implementation of livelihood, agriculture, livestock and market-development activities under its programmes in Rwanda.
About the Role
The Technical Sector Officer – Livestock will provide hands-on technical support to the Technical Specialist – Market Systems Development & Livelihood and the Regional Manager.
The role focuses on ensuring that livelihood and market-development activities are properly planned and delivered on time. This includes livestock and poultry production, agriculture and farming, training, asset distribution, market linkages, entrepreneurship and support to frontline staff.
The officer will also help develop and contextualize training materials, train frontline teams, support participant training rollouts, and assist with budgeting, procurement, asset distribution and asset management.
Academic Qualifications
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Veterinary Sciences
- Veterinary Medicine
- Animal Production
- Animal Husbandry
- Or another related field.

Experience Requirements

- At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in agriculture-sector, livelihood or economic-development programmes within an NGO or humanitarian environment.
- At least 1 year of experience in activities related to socioeconomic empowerment of young women is an added value.
- Previous experience providing technical assistance in livelihood or economic-empowerment activities.
- Experience in training-module development and training facilitation.
- Experience working in integrated programmes targeting women is an advantage.
