KDU Global Partial Graduate Scholarship for Self-Sponsored East Africans – Spring 2026
Deadline: 12 December 2025 (Initial Submission)
The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), in partnership with Kyungdong University (KDU) Global in South Korea, is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the KDU Global Partial Graduate Scholarship for the Spring 2026 intake. The scholarship targets qualified applicants from East African Community (EAC) member states, namely:
- Burundi
- Kenya
- Rwanda
- South Sudan
- Tanzania
- Uganda
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Somalia.
1. Scholarship Overview
The KDU Global Partial Graduate Scholarship supports East African students pursuing Master’s degree programs, taught fully in English, at Kyungdong University Global Campus.
Available Master’s Programs
- Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
- Master of Arts in International Business Administration
- Master of Arts in International Hospitality and Tourism Management
Medium of Instruction: 100% English
Commencement: March 2026
Duration:
- Research Track: 4 semesters (2 years)
- Coursework Track: 5 semesters (2.5 years)
2. Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fee ($5,000) covered for the first semester, subject to compliance with KDU Global regulations.
- Dormitory costs: $1,100 per semester, paid by the student.
- Students/parents must cover travel, insurance, application fees, and personal expenses.
Tuition Support for Subsequent Semesters
- 50% scholarship for students with an 80–89 average – remaining tuition: $2,500
- 70% scholarship for students with an average of 90+ – remaining tuition: $1,500
KDU Global also provides part-time job assistance for students.
3. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be citizens and residents of an EAC member state.
- Hold an undergraduate degree, diploma, and transcripts.
- Provide an English Proficiency Certificate (IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL iBT 71 or higher). EFSET, Duolingo, and PTE are not accepted.
- Submit a 6-month bank statement + bank balance certificate showing at least $16,000 from the applicant or parent/sponsor (siblings allowed only if parents are deceased).
4. Application Process
Stage I – IUCEA Preliminary Selection
Applicants must submit:
- Statement of interest addressed to the Executive Secretary, IUCEA
- Comprehensive CV
- Academic transcript and graduation certificate
- Copy of passport
- Valid English proficiency test results
- 6-month bank statement (as required)

Stage II – KDU Global Final Selection
KDU Global will conduct individual assessments and may request additional documents. Successful applicants will later submit full admission documents via the KDU admission portal.
