1. Job Summary
The Central Credit Analyst will play an important role in managing and safeguarding the loan portfolio of INGANJI SACCO RUBAVU. The successful candidate will ensure that credit decisions are supported by rigorous financial analysis and comply with the SACCO’s credit policies and risk tolerance.
The position involves reviewing loan appraisals from branches and outlets, monitoring portfolio quality, assessing credit risks, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and supporting effective loan management.
The Central Credit Analyst will report to the Head of Credit Officer, as stated in the vacancy announcement.
2. Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Evaluate loan analyses submitted by branches, outlets, and sub-branches and advise loan officers on appropriate credit decisions.
- Ensure that all loans comply with the SACCO’s credit policies.
- Monitor the quality of the loan portfolio and regularly discuss improvement measures with loan officers.
- Safeguard collateral provided for loans and prepare the necessary documentation for collateral registration.
- Ensure that loan agreements and recommendations from the Board of Directors’ Credit Committee are implemented at headquarters.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports and other reports as required, showing the status of loans and their interest.
- Assist management in preparing written documents explaining each stage of the credit process.
- Participate in research, evaluations, and other studies aimed at developing the Credit Department.
3. Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking, Accounting, or a relevant field.
- Have at least three years of work experience in the credit function of the financial industry, preferably in microfinance institutions.
- Be a Rwandan national.
- Be no more than 45 years old at the time of application.

- Good understanding of banking and branch operations, applicable rules and regulations, lending procedures, and credit risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good negotiation, interpersonal, and persuasion skills.
- Patience and emotional understanding when dealing with SACCO members and staff.
- Ability to make fair and ethical decisions in difficult circumstances.
- Excellent organization, record-keeping, and filing skills.
- Strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
