Job Overview
An opportunity is available for a Tea Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations, sales, customer service, stock management, cash control, team supervision, marketing activities, and overall performance of the Tea Shop.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, strong sales performance, proper stock control, and compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tea Shop Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the Tea Shop and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure the shop is opened and closed according to established procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, attractive, and welcoming environment.
- Ensure products are properly displayed, labelled, priced, and available to customers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve operational issues.
2. Sales and Business Development
- Drive sales of RMT tea products and other approved products.
- Develop initiatives to increase customer traffic and sales.
- Identify opportunities to promote RMT products to individuals, companies, tourists, institutions, and other potential customers.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships.
- Promote new products, special offers, seasonal products, and approved promotions.
- Monitor sales performance against agreed targets and take corrective action where necessary.
- Prepare sales forecasts and contribute to sales planning when required.
3. Customer Service
- Ensure customers receive professional, friendly, and timely service.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate relevant issues and opportunities to management.
- Provide accurate information about RMT products, prices, preparation, and usage.
- Promote a positive customer experience that strengthens the RMT brand.
4. Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels and ensure fast-moving products are available.
- Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stock counts.
- Coordinate stock replenishment with relevant departments.
- Monitor product expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Investigate and report stock variances, damages, losses, or wastage.
- Ensure products are stored appropriately and securely.
5. Cash and Financial Control
- Ensure accurate recording of all sales transactions.
- Supervise cash handling and ensure compliance with cash-control procedures.
- Reconcile daily sales, cash, and electronic payment transactions.
- Ensure sales are supported by receipts or approved transaction records.
- Report cash shortages, discrepancies, or irregularities immediately.
- Ensure daily sales collections are handled and submitted according to company procedures.
6. Team Supervision
- Supervise Tea Shop staff and allocate daily duties.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and performance.
- Train and coach staff in customer service, product knowledge, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, discipline, and accountability.
- Identify staff training and development needs and communicate them to management.
- Ensure staff comply with company policies and standards.
7. Marketing and Brand Promotion
- Support RMT marketing and promotional activities at the Tea Shop.
- Ensure proper display of RMT branding, products, and promotional materials.
- Support product tastings, demonstrations, events, and other promotional activities.
- Provide feedback on customer preferences, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Support initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and visibility of RMT tea products.
8. Reporting and Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports as required.
- Report on stock levels, stock movements, customer feedback, and operational challenges.
- Maintain accurate Tea Shop records and documentation.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular updates to the supervisor.
- Escalate operational, financial, customer, and staff issues appropriately and promptly.
9. Health, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, hygiene, and company requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of tea products and other merchandise.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, or lounge management.
- Experience in staff supervision, sales, and stock management is an added advantage.
- Experience in food and beverage, tea, coffee, or a related industry is also an advantage.
