Palast Rock Hotel (PRH) Ltd, a subsidiary of Palast Group Ltd, is recruiting a General Manager to provide overall leadership, strategic direction and operational oversight for the hotel.
The position is based in Kigali and reports directly to the Palast Group CEO, with functional reporting to the Group DCEO, Group HR Manager and Group Operations Manager. The application deadline is Thursday, 8 October 2026 at 17:00 Rwanda time.

The role provides leadership across accommodation, food and beverage, conferences and events, wellness and recreational services, and supporting functions.
Hotel Operations and Service Excellence
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing day-to-day hotel operations.
- Coordinating accommodation, restaurants, bars, conferences, weddings, events and recreational facilities.
- Ensuring departments follow approved policies and service standards.
- Monitoring service delivery and addressing operational gaps.
- Monitoring guest satisfaction and handling service issues.
- Ensuring appropriate cleanliness, safety, maintenance and presentation standards.
- Overseeing quality assurance and continuous service improvement.
- Coordinating major conferences, weddings and other hotel functions.
Financial Performance and Cost Management
The General Manager will:
- Take overall responsibility for hotel financial performance and profitability.
- Review budgets, financial reports, forecasts and expenditure plans.
- Monitor revenue, operational costs and profitability against targets.
- Ensure effective cost control.
- Support revenue optimization and business development.
- Review and authorize purchases, contracts and operational expenditures within approved authority.
- Work with Finance & Administration and Group Finance to maintain financial controls and accurate reporting.
- Monitor key financial indicators and take corrective action where necessary.
Sales, Marketing and Business Development
The role will also involve:
- Developing sales, marketing and revenue-generation strategies.
- Increasing room occupancy and revenue from food and beverage, conferences, events and weddings.
- Building relationships with corporate clients, government institutions, travel agencies and business partners.
- Identifying new business opportunities and markets.
- Monitoring market trends, customer preferences and competitor activities.
- Promoting the PRH brand, products and services.
Management, Reporting and Governance
The General Manager will monitor departmental performance against KPIs, chair management meetings, coordinate communication between departments and ensure timely reporting.
The position also requires weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual hotel performance reports to the Group CEO and/or Board of Directors as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Hotel Management or a related field.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Hospitality Management is an added advantage.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in hotel or hospitality management.
- At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, financial management, customer service and business development.
- Experience managing multi-department hotel operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, events and recreational services.
- Knowledge of hospitality regulations, health and safety standards and operational best practices.
