About COOPEC IKIRENGA

COOPEC IKIRENGA is a Financial Service Cooperative operating in the Northern Province of Rwanda under the supervision of the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR).

The cooperative was established in May 2024 following the merger of five SACCOs: COOPEC ITI, COOPEC CODEMARU, CSTCR SACCO, CSPKI and TRASO. Its headquarters are located in Base Sector, Rulindo District.

Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of Operations, the Operation Officer HQ will be responsible for:

• Supporting the smooth and efficient operations of branches and outlets.
• Acting as a custodian and reference point for security-related matters.
• Ensuring excellent member and customer service.
• Supporting the achievement of branch and outlet sales targets.
• Maintaining close collaboration between headquarters, branches and outlets.
• Supporting Branch Business Managers in developing local market sales plans.
• Conducting sales calls to support branch and outlet business growth.
• Developing strategies to improve customer service and meet customer expectations.
• Handling escalated client concerns.
• Preparing summarized reports on sales activities.
• Ensuring that internal controls are implemented according to established procedures.
• Regularly visiting branches and outlets to monitor operational performance.
• Following the cooperative’s principles, procedures and codes of conduct.
• Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information.
• Taking proper care of equipment assigned for work.
• Performing other duties assigned by the Head of Operations or another authorized supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in banking or microfinance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to motivate teams to achieve sales targets.
• Strong customer-service orientation.
• Good understanding of branch operations and sales activities.

General Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be Rwandan.
• Be 40 years old or below.
• Not have been sentenced to imprisonment for six months or more.
• Not have been dismissed from another institution unless legally entitled to reinstatement.
• Not have been involved in the bankruptcy of a financial institution.
