About the Position
The Human Resources Officer will serve as a focal point for HR functions within FAWE Rwanda and provide support to management and employees.
The role covers the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, personnel records, performance management, employee welfare, learning and development, payroll-related HR information, leave and attendance, employee relations, compliance, safeguarding and HR reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
The Human Resources Officer will:
- Serve as the focal point for HR matters.
- Support workforce planning and improvement of HR policies and systems.
- Support succession planning and talent management.
- Coordinate recruitment and selection processes from vacancy development through onboarding.
- Maintain confidential personnel files, staff databases, contracts, leave and attendance records.
- Ensure employee information is properly maintained in the ERP system.
- Coordinate staff performance management.
- Support performance planning, appraisals and performance improvement plans.
- Address employee welfare and workplace concerns.

Training and Staff Development
The officer will:
- Identify staff training and professional development needs.
- Coordinate staff orientation, training, coaching and mentoring.
- Develop annual learning and development plans.

Payroll, Leave and Employee Benefits
The position will work with the Finance and Administration Department to:
- Provide accurate HR information for payroll.
- Support administration of employee benefits.
- Monitor attendance and leave.
- Maintain accurate HR records through the ERP system.

HR Compliance and Safeguarding
The Human Resources Officer will:
- Ensure compliance with FAWE policies and applicable employment legislation.
- Coordinate implementation of safeguarding, PSEA, anti-harassment and child protection policies.
- Promote staff awareness and compliance with organisational standards.
- Identify and monitor HR-related risks.

HR Reporting and Analytics
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing regular HR reports for the Executive Director.
- Reporting on staffing levels, recruitment, turnover, leave and attendance.
- Monitoring performance, training and employee welfare.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet one of the following requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialisation in Human Resource Management
- Or a related field
Experience required: at least 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within an NGO or similar organisation. Pasted markdown
