About the Business Intelligence Manager Position
The Business Intelligence Manager will lead and develop RwandAir’s business intelligence strategy. The role focuses on transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that help management understand business performance, identify challenges and make informed strategic decisions.
The successful candidate will work with different departments, develop analytical solutions, oversee data management processes and lead a team of business intelligence analysts and data engineers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Management and Governance
The manager will ensure that company data remains accurate, secure and reliable by overseeing data governance and stewardship processes. The role also includes supervising the design, development and maintenance of data pipelines and data warehousing solutions.
2. Business Analytics and Reporting
The successful candidate will develop executive dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytical reports covering areas such as passenger flow, on-time performance, revenue, operations and customer satisfaction.
The role also requires applying advanced analytical methods, including modelling, forecasting and A/B testing, to address commercial and operational challenges.
3. Collaboration with Stakeholders
The Business Intelligence Manager will work closely with airline, airport, commercial and operational teams to translate business questions into practical analytics solutions.
Other responsibilities include presenting findings to senior management, recommending strategic actions, coordinating external business intelligence partnerships and managing analytics contractors or vendors.
4. Strategy and Team Leadership
The successful candidate will develop and implement a business intelligence roadmap aligned with RwandAir’s commercial, operational and safety objectives.
Responsibilities include leading and mentoring business intelligence analysts and data engineers, supporting professional development, implementing performance management systems and promoting modern business intelligence platforms, cloud analytics and scalable technology architectures.
Qualifications and Experience Required
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
- Have at least three years of hands-on experience working with business intelligence systems.
- Have at least three years of experience in managerial or leadership positions.
Applicants should ensure that their CV clearly demonstrates their relevant technical experience and leadership background.
Technical Skills and Competencies
RwandAir is looking for candidates with strong technical and professional capabilities, including:
- Expertise in business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Knowledge of data warehousing platforms and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure and Snowflake.
- Experience in advanced analytics, predictive modelling, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical findings to senior management.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability, strategic vision and sound decision-making.
- Proven team leadership, stakeholder management and project coordination skills.
