A High Commission in Kigali is inviting applications from qualified Rwandan nationals for the position of Chauffeur. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving official vehicles, carrying out basic vehicle maintenance and keeping up to date with changes in routes and road conditions.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Be aged 25–35 years as of 1 November 2026.
- Have at least 3 years of professional driving experience.
- Experience working with a diplomatic mission, embassy, international organisation or the Government of Rwanda is preferred.
- Have an Intermediate/12th-standard qualification or equivalent, preferably.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English and Kinyarwanda.
- Hold a valid and clean local driving licence.
- Have good knowledge of Kigali’s roads, topography and traffic patterns.
- Be familiar with major locations in Kigali and key destinations outside Kigali.
- Provide a clear Police or local government record certificate.
- Be free from diseases or physical conditions affecting vision, hearing or mobility.
- Have working knowledge of vehicles, their parts and basic maintenance.
- Be a Rwandan national.
Duties and Responsibilities
The selected Chauffeur will be responsible for:
- Driving the official vehicle according to the schedule and instructions provided by the office.
- Carrying out basic vehicle maintenance.
- Conducting routine vehicle inspections.
- Keeping the official vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Monitoring changes to routes and road directions.
- Staying informed about road conditions and alternative routes when necessary.
Working Hours
The position is full-time, with normal working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
The selected candidate should also be willing and able to work before or after normal office hours and on weekends when required.
Salary and Start Date
The advertised monthly gross salary is approximately US$320.
The successful candidate is expected to take up the position from November 2026.
