The Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum (RYAF) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for 78 Proximity Coach positions under the PSAC Project.
This initiative, supported by the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), aims to strengthen the coffee value chain through Farmer Field Schools (FFS) across multiple districts in Rwanda.
Project Overview:
The project focuses on improving coffee production using:
- Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
- Climate-smart agriculture
- Farmer Field School (FFS) training approach
Proximity Coaches will support farmers directly at community level through practical, field-based learning.
Available Positions by District:
- Ruhango – 9 positions
- Huye – 15 positions
- Nyamagabe – 10 positions
- Rusizi – 6 positions
- Nyamasheke – 26 positions
- Karongi – 12 positions
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and train Farmer Field School (FFS) groups
- Facilitate practical agricultural training sessions
- Support farmers in adopting improved coffee practices
- Conduct Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA)
- Manage demonstration plots for learning
- Collaborate with local stakeholders and agriculture officers
Contract Duration:
📅 10 months (short-term assignment)
Required Qualifications:
- A2 certificate in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Production, or Horticulture
- Strong communication skills in Kinyarwanda (English is an added advantage)
- Ability to work with rural communities
- Must reside near the target sector
Added Advantages:
- Experience in coffee value chain
- Knowledge of Farmer Field School (FFS) approach
- Experience in agricultural training or facilitation
