The Opportunity
JALI PARTNERS is seeking five (5) highly motivated Accounting Interns to join our Kigali team. This paid internship offers hands-on experience, direct mentorship from senior accountants, and the real possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. You will learn to manage full client accounting and tax lifecycles, participate in audits, and deliver financial compilations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly client financial statements.
- Prepare and/or review client statutory filings for RRA, RSSB, and RDB.
- Participate in clients’ yearly financial audits and audit report preparation.
- Support yearly client financial compilations.
- Assist in audit planning and execution.
- Provide tax advisory to clients on potential risks and advantages.
- Solve client accounting and fiscal problems.
- Draft contracts and proposals.
- Advise on improvements to internal or client accounting procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Candidate Qualifications
Minimum mandatory requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or completion of all coursework pending graduation.
- Professional Certification: Qualified or actively pursuing CPA, ACCA, or other IFAC-accredited accounting courses (advanced level required).
- Languages: English fluency required; proficiency in Kinyarwanda.
- Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online, or other cloud-based accounting software.

Knowledge of the RRA e-tax system.

Hands-on experience preparing audit reports in MS Excel, Word, or specialized financial reporting software.

- Experience: Minimum 1+ year of work experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Core Competencies: Ability to meet deadlines, work independently with high integrity, minimal supervision, and strong critical thinking skills.
Highly Valued (not mandatory): Previous experience in an accounting firm.
