APS-EPS-ICTP Travel Award Fellowship Programme 2026:
Overview
The APS-EPS-ICTP Travel Award Fellowship Programme 2026 is now open for applications, offering funding to support early-career scientists and doctoral students from developing countries to conduct short research visits abroad.
Purpose
The programme was established to enhance global scientific collaboration, strengthen research networks, and contribute to sustainable scientific development — aligning with the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development and related global science initiatives.
Who Can Apply
Eligible candidates must:
- Be outstanding doctoral students or early-career physicists (within 10 years of completing their PhD), preferably under 45.
- Be nationals of developing countries currently studying or working in their home country or another developing country.
- Have a plan to undertake a two-month research visit to a laboratory with which they already have an established collaboration (special consideration to those returning to their alma mater).
- Be proficient in English or fluent in the host country’s language.
Benefits
Selected fellows receive a grant of up to €5,000, intended to cover major costs for a two-month research visit to a selected laboratory in:
- Europe (excluding Italy),
- North America, or
- A more advanced developing country.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following by 31 March 2026:
- Complete CV with publication list and personal details
- At least one reference letter
- Letter of agreement from the host laboratory describing the research plan
- Motivation letter
- One-page budget plan
- Proof of enrolment (for doctoral students)
