Job Overview
Fuzu is hiring an IT Specialist for its operations in Kigali. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, solutions-oriented professional responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving tech innovation aligned with business goals in Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & System Management
- Manage and optimize all IT infrastructure including hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure maximum uptime, monitor performance, and resolve system issues promptly.
- Implement cybersecurity protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
- Establish and maintain IT policies and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure IT practices comply with both local and international standards, including data protection laws.
- Serve as liaison for IT audits and regulatory interactions.
Team & Strategic Leadership
- Mentor local IT staff, fostering growth and innovation.
- Align Rwanda’s IT operations with Chipper Cash’s global strategy.
- Identify skill gaps and organize training sessions.
Innovation & Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute IT strategies tailored to business goals.
- Recommend emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Manage vendor relationships for cost-effective service delivery.
- Work with internal teams to meet technology needs.
- Act as point of contact for external IT stakeholders.
Additional Duties
- Handle procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets.
- Administer Rwanda’s IT budget and ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning.
- Support various IT-related projects as needed.
Candidate Profile
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, ITIL, CISM, or similar.
Experience
- 3+ years in progressive IT roles.
- Background in fintech or financial services is a plus.
- Proven track record in compliance and cybersecurity management.
Skills
- Strong foundation in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of Rwanda’s IT regulations and data protection laws.
