King Faisal Hospital, Rwanda, is a center of excellence in health service provision, clinical education, and research. As we embrace a new strategic direction, we are excited to announce the following job openings:
1. Project Coordinator (Part-time)
Competency Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in public health, project management, or a related field.
- Certificate in research ethics or related training is a plus.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project coordination, preferably in health research.
- Registration with a relevant professional body.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in data management tools and software (e.g., REDCap, Excel, ODK).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
- Familiarity with ethical research practices and protocols is an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the research project and ensure timely progress.
- Coordinate activities across study sites and manage the project timeline.
- Supervise data collectors and ensure adherence to research protocols.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including hospitals and the research team.
- Manage logistics for data collection, including tool distribution and participant follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and obtain necessary approvals.
- Monitor data quality and integrity, addressing any issues promptly.
- Prepare progress reports and updates for the principal investigator and collaborators.

2. Data Collectors (Part-time)
Competency Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, clinical medicine, laboratory science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with research ethics and informed consent procedures.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience with data collection tools (e.g., REDCap) is an advantage.
- Registration with a relevant professional body.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
- Previous experience in health research or data collection is preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain informed consent from study participants.
- Administer questionnaires in-person, via phone, or online.
- Assist participants in completing surveys and ensure data accuracy.
- Collect blood samples for serologic testing, following safety protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper use of unique identifiers.
- Conduct data entry using REDCap and ensure data quality.
- Liaise with study supervisors and provide progress updates.
- Follow ethical and safety guidelines during data collection.
