The successful candidate will support daily tennis court operations by retrieving tennis balls during matches and training sessions, preparing courts, assisting players and coaches, maintaining tennis equipment, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized playing environment.
The position is suitable for candidates with an A2/Secondary School Certificate who have an interest in tennis, sports, hospitality, or customer service.

Job Overview
The Ball Boy will support the smooth operation of tennis activities at the Health Club.
The role involves retrieving and distributing tennis balls, preparing tennis courts, assisting coaches and players, maintaining equipment, supporting tournaments, and ensuring that tennis facilities remain clean, safe, and ready for use.
The successful candidate will also provide basic support to members and guests and contribute to a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Tennis Court Operations
The Ball Boy will:
- Retrieve and distribute tennis balls during matches.
- Retrieve tennis balls during tournaments and training sessions.
- Ensure an adequate supply of tennis balls throughout activities.
- Support smooth match flow.
- Prepare tennis courts before activities.
- Arrange required tennis equipment.
- Ensure courts are clean and ready for use.
- Remove obstacles and debris from playing areas.
- Assist with setting up tennis facilities.
Support to Players and Coaches
Responsibilities include:
- Assist players during tennis activities.
- Support coaches during academy training sessions.
- Assist during tennis programmes.
- Respond to basic requests from members and guests.
- Provide timely support during matches and training sessions.
- Help maintain an organized playing environment.
Equipment Management
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain tennis ball baskets.
- Maintain tennis nets and related equipment.
- Maintain scoreboards and other tennis materials.
- Ensure tennis balls are properly stored.
- Monitor tennis equipment availability.
- Report damaged equipment to the supervisor.
- Report safety concerns and operational issues.
- Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment for events.
Events and Tournaments
The Ball Boy will:
- Support tennis tournaments.
- Assist during special tennis events.
- Support training sessions and competitions.
- Assist with promotional tennis activities organized by the Club.
- Help ensure equipment is available throughout events.
- Support efficient match operations.
Health, Safety and Cleanliness
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure tennis courts remain clean and safe.
- Keep playing areas free from obstacles and debris.
- Follow health and safety procedures.
- Follow operational procedures established by the Club.
- Report safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of tennis equipment.
- Contribute to a safe environment for players, coaches, members, and guests.
Stock and Equipment Control
The successful candidate will:
- Monitor the availability of tennis balls.
- Ensure tennis balls are properly stored.
- Maintain ball baskets and other equipment.
- Report shortages of tennis equipment.
- Report damaged or missing equipment.
- Help maintain appropriate equipment levels.
Customer Service
The Ball Boy will:
- Provide professional support to members and guests.
- Respond politely to basic tennis-related requests.
- Maintain professional conduct at all times.
- Demonstrate a customer-service-oriented attitude.
- Contribute to member and guest satisfaction.
- Support a positive experience at the Health Club.
Other Duties
The successful candidate may also:
- Perform other duties assigned by the Tennis Coach.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
- Support the Health Club team when required.
- Assist with operational activities related to tennis services.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum Secondary School Certificate (A2).
- Basic knowledge of tennis is desirable.
- Previous sports experience is an added advantage.
- Previous hospitality experience is an added advantage.
- Previous customer service experience is an added advantage.
- Previous tennis operations experience is an added advantage.
