About Protestant University of Rwanda
The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) is a non-governmental, accredited higher learning institution owned by Protestant churches in Rwanda and operating as a faith-based organization.
PUR continues the work initiated through the École de Théologie de Butare (ETB), which was established in 1970 by the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda (EPR) and the Union of Baptist Churches in Rwanda (UEBR).
In 2015, PUR established the Centre for Research and Action towards Sustainable Peace and Development (CRASPD) to promote sustainable peace, social cohesion, and community development through research, training, and outreach programmes.
