Procurement Team Leader – Kigali, Rwanda
SALVOGRIMA Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Procurement Team Leader based in Kigali, Rwanda. This full-time opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong procurement, supply chain, supplier management, and leadership experience within FMCG, food and beverage, manufacturing, or distribution sectors.

Position Details

- Reports To: Senior Procurement Manager (Malta)
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Coordination
- Lead and supervise the Ship Supply Procurement Team.
- Coordinate effectively with procurement, logistics, and sales teams in Rwanda and Malta.
- Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and support staff development.
- Maintain communication with senior management regarding procurement activities and team progress.
Procurement and Supplier Management
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, pricing, and service efficiency.
- Handle procurement of products from local suppliers.
- Negotiate supplier agreements and rebate schemes.
- Ensure procurement activities follow company procedures and standards.
Strategic Planning and Operations
- Participate in strategic planning meetings and operational improvement initiatives.
- Provide recommendations to improve procurement performance and workflow efficiency.
- Support contract drafting and procurement compliance activities.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare procurement reports and operational updates.
- Assist in improving procurement systems and organizational processes.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master’s Degree is considered an advantage.
- Minimum of five years of experience in procurement, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, food and beverage, or distribution sectors.
- Strong experience in sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Strong negotiation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in international business environments is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Advanced procurement and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with procurement systems and Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
