It is an inclusive finance-focused group with consumer, micro-lending, and deposit-taking subsidiaries across sub-Saharan Africa.
An opportunity has arisen within Letshego Rwanda Limited (LRL) for the position of Internal Auditor. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the Country Management Committee (CMC).
Purpose of the Job
The Internal Auditor will lead and coordinate internal audit activities across the organization, providing independent assurance on governance, risk management, and internal controls. The role will ensure that internal audit activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and International Internal Audit (IIA) standards while supporting effective risk management and organizational performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and ensure implementation of the country Internal Audit strategic and operational audit plans.
- Develop and manage internal audit policies, guidelines, and charters for adoption at country level.
- Implement the Assurance Model within the country by collaborating with Risk and Compliance functions, External Auditors, and Regulators to ensure appropriate assurance coverage.
- Adhere to International Internal Audit (IIA) standards across all internal audit activities, with a focus on achieving and maintaining conformance.
- Execute approved audit plans and report findings to the Country Audit Committee.
- Present Internal Audit findings to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Country Management and support the development of appropriate action plans and recommendations.
- Ensure that internal audit reviews provide sufficient assurance regarding governance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Implement strategies and policies approved by the Board and develop processes that adequately identify, measure, monitor, and control risks faced by the institution.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Microfinance, Banking, Business Information Technology (BIT), or another related field.
- At least one relevant professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or CFE.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
