Rwanda Ultimate Golf Course is a private company established to position Rwanda as one of Africa’s leading golfing destinations. Its first major project is the Kigali Golf Resort & Villas, featuring a golf course designed by world-famous golfer and golf-course designer Gary Player.
The facility will also include a five-star clubhouse with a health club, tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool, and several other amenities.
Job Overview
Rwanda Ultimate Golf Course Ltd is seeking one highly skilled and experienced Fitness Coach to work at Kigali Golf Resort & Villas.
The Fitness Coach will provide personalized fitness training and guidance to clubhouse members. The successful candidate will design and implement individualized exercise programs, monitor members’ progress, and motivate them to achieve their fitness goals.
The role requires a strong understanding of exercise techniques and nutrition, together with the ability to adapt fitness programs to meet individual members’ needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Fitness Coach will be responsible for:
- Conducting initial fitness assessments to determine members’ fitness levels, goals, and specific health considerations.
- Performing assessments such as body composition analysis, flexibility tests, cardiovascular endurance assessments, and strength evaluations.
- Designing customized exercise programs based on members’ goals, abilities, preferences, age, fitness level, medical history, and limitations.
- Delivering individualized training sessions while emphasizing proper form, technique, and safety.
- Demonstrating exercises and guiding members through workouts to maximize results and minimize injury risks.
- Regularly assessing members’ progress and adjusting training programs where necessary.
- Tracking performance improvements and providing constructive feedback.
- Motivating and supporting members to maintain engagement with their fitness programs.
- Providing guidance on healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices that complement members’ fitness goals.
- Providing information about proper nutrition for optimal performance and weight management.
- Leading group exercise classes suitable for different fitness levels and interests.
- Creating a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participants to achieve their fitness objectives.
- Ensuring fitness equipment is in good working condition.
- Reporting maintenance or repair requirements promptly.
- Keeping the training area clean, organized, and safe.
- Continuously developing knowledge of fitness training techniques, nutrition research, and industry developments.
- Attending workshops, conferences, and seminars to improve professional expertise.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma (A1) or Bachelor’s degree in Sports, Physical Education, Fitness Training, or a related field.
- Certificate in Sports, Fitness Training, or Gym Instruction is an added advantage.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Gym Instructor, Fitness Coach, Personal Trainer, or in a similar position.
- Experience in a gym, health club, hotel, leisure, or sports facility is an added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong coaching and motivational abilities.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work with members with different fitness levels.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
