Job Purpose
The Senior Manager – Reporting is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of statutory and management accounts, daily financial reports, quarterly reporting to auditors and I&M Holdings, and compliance with International Accounting Standards. The role supports strategic decision-making by providing reliable financial information while ensuring transparency, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of daily financial statements with variance analysis
- Highlight key movements in income, expenses, and balance sheet items
- Oversee daily analysis of profit and loss accounts, including interest income, interest expense, fees, and commissions
- Ensure accuracy of financial information and provide actionable insights to management
Management Reporting
- Prepare weekly reports on deposits and loans by sector with trend analysis
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts with detailed explanations of variances against budgets and prior periods
- Prepare monthly management presentations and board reports
- Translate financial performance data into strategic business insights
ALCO and Market Reporting
• Generate Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) reports on a regular basis
• Prepare market reports to support treasury and risk management decisions
• Ensure all reports are relevant, accurate, and delivered on time
Group and Statutory Reporting
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for I&M Holdings
• Coordinate and finalize annual statutory accounts within regulatory timelines
• Ensure compliance with Annual General Meeting (AGM) reporting requirements
• Maintain adherence to International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Audit Coordination
• Coordinate with external auditors during audit engagements
• Provide timely and accurate financial information
• Resolve audit queries efficiently and support audit completion
Special Projects and Analysis
- Prepare special financial reports requested by the CFO or Head of Finance
- Deliver accurate and relevant analysis within agreed timelines
- Support strategic financial planning and decision-making processes
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking or financial services in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of IAS and IFRS requirements
- Proficiency in spreadsheet applications and accounting software
- Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and statutory compliance
