About the Role
Musanze District is seeking a skilled Plumbing Technician to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems across district facilities. The successful candidate will ensure efficient water supply and sanitation systems while complying with all regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Maintenance
✔ Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, pipes, and fixtures (sinks, toilets, bathtubs)
✔ Cut, weld, and assemble pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures
✔ Read and interpret blueprints for plumbing layouts
Inspection & Troubleshooting
✔ Inspect and test plumbing systems for functionality and code compliance
✔ Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues (leaks, clogs, etc.)
✔ Respond to emergency call-outs and resolve problems efficiently
Compliance & Documentation
✔ Ensure all work adheres to local plumbing codes and regulations
✔ Prepare cost estimates for plumbing projects
✔ Maintain accurate records of work performed
Additional Duties
✔ Provide excellent customer service for plumbing-related queries
✔ Perform other assigned technical tasks
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Education (One of the Following):
- Advanced Diploma in Plumbing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing
Experience:
✔ 0 Years Required (Entry-Level Position)
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical plumbing skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Quality control and inspection skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda & English (French/Swahili is an advantage)
- Basic computer/digital literacy
- Knowledge of water allocation planning
