NIERA Policy Fellowship Program 2025: Empowering African Policymakers 

The Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Policy Fellowship Program. This 6-week professional development opportunity is designed for mid-level policymakers in East and West Africa to strengthen their skills in evidence-based decision-making.



Successful fellows will participate in a one-week online course on policy research methods, followed by a 5-week mentorship with an expert researcher to develop a policy-focused research proposal. With funding support and expert guidance, this fellowship is ideal for professionals in education, health, and agriculture sectors.

Eligibility Criteria




Applicants must:
✔ Be a mid-level policymaker (ministry, government agency, or parliament staff)
✔ Have a Bachelor’s degree + experience in policy/program development
✔ Be fluent in English (written & spoken)
✔ Be from an eligible East or West African country
✔ Have strong computer skills (MS Office, internet research)
✔ Provide a letter of support from their employer
